At our last house, I grew sunflowers in the front garden. Bees roosted on the sunflower faces at night. In the morning, if you got up early enough, you could pet the bees while they were still cold.
What do torpid bees do?
They rattle their wings weakly in protest and waggle one or two legs in an attempt to shoo you away. Bee fur is soft.
